We are pleased that you will be participating in Unleashing Your Leadership Potential (UYLP) program at the University of Notre Dame. The program will begin on Monday, November 5, 2018 and conclude on Thursday, November 8th.
The following should provide you with additional information that will be helpful in making your travel plans:
On Monday, November 5th, your UYLP experience will begin with an optional campus walking tour departing from the lobby of the Morris Inn at 11:00 AM. The student guide will end the tour at 12:00 PM at the Eck Visitor Center, where we will have lunch. If you are unable to attend the tour then please meet the group for lunch at the Eck Visitor Center which is located directly next to the Morris Inn on Notre Dame Ave. We will walk over as a group to the Stayer Center afterwards.
At 1:00 PM the first session, Introduction:Transition to Leadership, will begin in Stayer Center room 319 followed by an Opening Dinner from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM in Morris Commons B on the first floor of the Stayer Center.
Each class day will begin at 8:00 AM in room 319. Breakfast will be available from 7:00 - 8:00 AM in Morris Commons B.
The UYLP classes are full and engaging; you may want to let colleagues know that you will not be easy to reach. Your last UYLP class will end at 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 8th, 2018.
You will be traveling to South Bend, Indiana.
If you are flying into South Bend:
Several major airlines service the South Bend Regional Airport (SBN). Cab service, Lyft or Uber are available from the airport. It is a 10-15 minute drive that averages $15. Rental cars are also available at the airport; however a car will not be necessary as you are staying at The Morris Inn located on the University campus. Listed below please find several companies you can contact to schedule transportation to the University campus. The fee will be your responsibility.

If you are flying into Chicago:
If you are flying into Chicago, United Limo/Coach USA has a regular schedule of buses from Chicago O'Hare and Chicago Midway that will bring you to the Notre Dame campus. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided each day during the program, except for Tuesday night which will be a free night to dine where you wish and explore South Bend. A pre paid Visa card of $25 will be given to each participant to use for dining that evening. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or allergies that need accommodation on the Information Request Form tab. You will be walking to nearby restaurants for some lunches so it is recommended that you bring a pair of comfortable shoes.
The program cost covers housing from check-in on November 5th to check-out on November 8th. Room and tax charges will be paid for; however, all incidental charges (telephone, laundry, etc.) and extra nights will be your personal responsibility. Check-in time for the hotel is 4:00 pm. They allow early arrival based upon availability, but if your room is not ready they will store your luggage until your room is available. Any additional days stay will also be your responsibility. We will make your hotel reservation according to the arrival and departure dates listed on your returned Information Request Form.
If you are staying at the Morris Inn, please note though that there is a valet charge of $20 per day for overnight guests. As an alternative, you can pull up to the front entrance of the Morris Inn and ask the valet for a pin code and directions to the BK1 lot. It is a short walk from the hotel and offers free overnight parking.

Temperatures are variable at this time of year, please check the forecast on weather and be prepared for varying temperatures and a chance of rain .
Business casual attire is appropriate for all classroom sessions. Due to varying temperature preferences, you may want to bring a sweater or light jacket to wear in the classroom. Comfortable walking shoes may be preferred for the walking campus tour.
Health and fitness:
The campus has several fitness facilities as well as walking/jogging trails. The brand new Duncan Student Center offers a multitude of exercise options and will be available for your use. This facility is accessible by showing the front desk key from the Morris Inn at the entrance to the recreation area. There are also two smaller size work out rooms at the Morris Inn. If you plan to exercise outside, please remember to bring clothing that can be layered, depending upon the weather. Information on all of these campus facilities will be available in the program welcome packet.
