We are pleased that you will be participating in Unleashing Your Leadership Potential (UYLP) program at the University of Notre Dame.

The following should provide you with additional information that will be helpful in making your travel plans:

Schedule Notes

On Tuesday, November 1, 2016, your UYLP experience will begin with a campus tour at 11:00 am Eastern time. Please come to the lobby of the Morris Inn where we will gather for the start of the tour.

You will receive a Welcome Packet upon arrival at the Morris Inn containing a map of the campus and your Tuesday agenda. The campus tour will conclude at the Morris Inn, where we will have lunch from 12:00 - 12:45 pm in the Morris Inn Private Dining Rooms.

Your first session, Introduction: Transition to Leadership, will be from 12:45 pm  - 5:00 pm, Tuesday afternoon, in the Stayer Center for Executive Education, room 319. Following this session there will be a Dinner from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at the Stayer Center, Morris Commons B (1st floor). 

On November 2, 3 and 4, each class day will begin at 8:30 am in room 319, Stayer Center for Executive Education. Breakfast will be available from 7:30 - 8:15 am in the Private Dining Room of the Morris Inn.

The UYLP classes are full and engaging; you may want to let colleagues know that you will not be easy to reach. Your last UYLP class will end at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 4, 2016.

For two months following your UYLP experience, you will be included in a monthly moderated group conference call for peer mentoring and coaching.

Notes:

You will be walking to various locations on campus for lunch and dinner, so it is recommended that you bring a pair of comfortable shoes.
 

Arrival & Departure

Arrival:  You are traveling to South Bend, Indiana which is on Eastern time. Most major airlines service the South Bend Regional Airport. Cab service is available from the airport. It is a 10-15 minute drive that averages $15. Rental cars are also available at the airport; however a car will not be necessary during your stay. Listed below please find several companies you can contact to schedule transportation to the Morris Inn. The fee will be your responsibility.

If you are flying into South Bend, please take a taxi to the Morris Inn, on campus. United Limo/Coach USA has a regular schedule of buses from Chicago O'Hare and Chicago Midway that will bring you to South Bend Airport, and some are also scheduled to stop on campus. Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided each day during the program. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or allergies that need accommodation. You can provide this information to us on the Information Request Form.

The program cost covers housing from check-in on November 1 to check-out on November 4. Room and tax charges will be paid for; however, all incidental charges (telephone, laundry, etc.) will be your personal responsibility. Check-in time for the hotel is 4:00 pm. They allow early arrival based upon availability, but if your room is not ready they will store your luggage until your room is available. Any additional days stay will also be your responsibility. We will make your hotel reservation according to the arrival and departure dates listed on your returned Information Request Form.

Complimentary self-parking is located in the BK1 (Bookstore West) lot. Pull up to the valet to receive directions and a pin code to the self-park lot.
Overnight guest valet parking is $20 per night.

Weather

Temperatures are variable at this time of year, please check the forecast on weather and be prepared for varying temperatures and a chance of rain and/or snow.

Clothing

Business casual attire is appropriate for all classroom sessions. Due to varying temperature preferences, you may want to bring a sweater or light jacket to wear in the classroom.

Health and fitness

The campus has several fitness facilities. In addition, the campus has jogging/walking trails, which provide a nice setting for workouts. There are also 2 fitness rooms in the Morris Inn for guest use. Please bring appropriate exercise attire if you wish to use these facilities. Information about campus facilities will be provided upon arrival.

Shipping your class materials home:

You will have an opportunity to ship your class materials home by Federal Express or UPS if you prefer not to pack them in your luggage. The shipping fees will be charged to your organization's FedEx or UPS Account Number so you may want to write that number down and bring it with you.

Internet Service

High speed internet service is available at the Morris Inn. Please inquire at the hotel's front desk for details. The Notre Dame guest wireless network is open to guests of the University, and does not require a username and password. To access the university network please connect to the following network: ND-guest.
