Travel and Logistics - Chicago

We are pleased that you will be participating in Unleashing Your Leadership Potential (UYLP) program at the University of Notre Dame Chicago campus.

The following should provide you with additional information that will be helpful in making your travel plans.

Schedule Notes

On Monday, April 18, 2016, your UYLP experience will begin with a welcome gathering at Noon CT in the dining area of our Chicago campus. The Notre Dame Chicago campus is located on the second floor of the Motorola Building (formerly the Santa Fe Building) at 224 South Michigan Ave, across from Grant Park.

Your first session will begin at 12:30, in the Chicago Campus location room 220. Following this session there will be a Dinner from 5:00 - 6:00 PM in the dining area next to the classroom. 

The UYLP classes are full and engaging; you may want to let colleagues know that you will not be easy to reach.

You will be walking to various locations in the city for lunch and dinner, so it is recommended that you bring a pair of comfortable shoes.
Laptops are not encouraged for classroom sessions.


You are traveling to Chicago, IL which is on Central time. Most major airlines service the Midway Regional Airport and O’Hare International.  Cab service is available from the airport. It is a 30-60 minute drive depending on the airport you choose and traffic.  Rental cars are available at the airport; however a car will not be necessary during your stay. Transportation fees are the responsibility of the participants.


Breakfast, lunch  and dinner will be provided each day during the program, with the exception of dinner Tuesday evening on your own. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or allergies that need accommodation. You can provide this information to us on the Information Request Form.

The program cost covers housing from check-in on April 18 to check-out on April 21. Room and tax charges are included in program tuition; however, all incidental charges (telephone, laundry, internet, parking, etc.) will be your personal responsibility. Check-in time for the hotel is 3:00 pm. The hotel allows early arrival based upon availability, but if your room is not ready they will store your luggage until your room is available. Any additional nights will also be your responsibility. We will make your hotel reservation according to the arrival and departure dates you list on your Information Request Form.


Self Parking is available at 55 E. Monroe St. for hotel guests at a discounted rate of $42.00 per day.

Grant Park South


Temperatures are variable at this time of year, please check the forecast on weather and be prepared for varying temperatures and a chance of rain .


Business casual attire is appropriate for all classroom sessions. Due to varying temperature preferences, you may want to bring a sweater or light jacket to wear in the classroom.

Health and fitness

The Chicago campus is across the street from Grant Park and Millennium Park. There are walking paths throughout the parks.  There is also a fitness room in the Palmer House for guest use. Please bring appropriate exercise attire if you wish to use these facilities.

Internet Service

High speed internet service is available for a $14.95 daily fee at the Palmer House and there is free WiFi in the lobby. Please inquire at the hotel's front desk for details. The Notre Dame guest wireless network is available at our facility and instructions will be given at the start of the program.
