We are pleased that you will be participating in Unleashing Your Leadership Potential (UYLP) program at the University of Notre Dame Chicago Campus.

The following should provide you with additional information that will be helpful in making your travel plans.

Schedule Notes:

On Monday, May 15, 2017, your UYLP experience will begin with a welcome lunch at 12:00 PM in the dining area of our Chicago campus. The Notre Dame Chicago campus is located on the second floor of the Motorola Building (formerly the Santa Fe Building) at 224 South Michigan Ave, across from Grant Park.

You will receive a Welcome Packet upon arrival at Club Quarters containing a map to the building and your Monday agenda.

Your first session, Introduction: Transition to Leadership, will be from 12:30 - 5:00 PM, Monday afternoon, in the Chicago Campus location room 220. Following this session there will be a Dinner from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the dining area next to the classroom.  Please see the attached schedule for more detailed information.  (Please note: The schedule is subject to change.)

On May 16,17 and 18 each class day will begin at 8:30 AM in room 220. Breakfast will be available from 7:45 -8:30 AM in the dining area.

The UYLP classes are full and engaging; you may want to let colleagues know that you will not be easy to reach. Your last UYLP class will end at 11:30 AM. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 with a grab and go lunch to follow.

For one date following your UYLP experience, you will be included in a moderated group conference call for peer mentoring and coaching.

Notes:

You will be walking to various locations in the city for lunch and dinner, so it is recommended that you bring a pair of comfortable shoes.
Laptops are not encouraged for classroom sessions.

Arrival & Departure:

Arrival: You are traveling to Chicago, IL which is on Central time. Most major airlines service the Midway Regional Airport and O’Hare International. Cab service is available from the airport. It is a 25-45 minute drive depending on which airport you fly into and the traffic. Rental cars are also available at the airport; however a car will not be necessary during your stay. Transportation fees are the responsibility of the participants.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided each day during the program with the exception of Tuesday dinner on your own. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or allergies that need accommodation. You can provide this information to us on the Information Request Form (located under the Prework tab).

The program cost covers housing from check-in on May 15 to check-out on May 18. Room and tax charges will be paid for; however, all incidental charges (telephone, laundry, etc.) will be your personal responsibility. Check-in time for the hotel is 3:00 PM. They allow early arrival based upon availability, but if your room is not ready they will store your luggage until your room is available. Any additional days stay will also be your responsibility. We will make your hotel reservation according to the arrival and departure dates listed on your returned Information Request Form.

Parking:

If you are just parking daily for the program and not staying at Club Quarters, then this is the closest garage to our location at 224 South Michigan Ave.: Grant Park South

Weather:

Temperatures are variable at this time of year, please check the forecast on weather and be prepared for varying temperatures.

Clothing:

Business casual attire is appropriate for all classroom sessions. Due to varying temperature preferences, you may want to bring a sweater or light jacket to wear in the classroom.

Health and fitness:

The Chicago campus is across the street from Grant Park and Millennium Park. There are walking paths throughout the parks. There is also a fitness room in Club Quarters for guest use that is available 24/7 as well as complimentary exercise equipment and yoga kits that can be delivered to the room. Please bring appropriate exercise attire if you wish to use these facilities.

Shipping your class materials home:

You will have an opportunity to ship your class materials home by Federal Express or UPS if you prefer not to pack them in your luggage. The shipping fees will be charged to your organization's FedEx or UPS Account Number so you may want to write that number down and bring it with you.

Internet Service:

High speed complimentary internet service is available at Club Quarters. Please inquire at the hotel's front desk for details. The Notre Dame Guest wireless network is available at our facility and instructions will be given at the start of the program.
